Please complete the application before Friday October 30th The following documentation is due on Friday nov. 6th Form I checklist for adult sponsor Form IA student checklist/research plan Form IB Approval form Submit your Chapter 5 Quiz here... The Cell cycle reminds me of.... Why is the cell cycle important? Do all cells replicate at the same speed? How old is the oldest/newest cell in you body? Chapter 5.1 Pres Chapter 5.1 PN Chapter 5.2 Pres Chapter 5.2 PN Chapter 5.3 Pres Chapter 5.4 Pres Chapter 5.5 Pres Today we will answer the following questions: What is Fermentation? Where does fermentation take place? Which organisms carry out fermentation? Why is fermentation important to us? When I think of fermentation it reminds me of.. Fermentation PN Fermentation Pres As a Biology student you have the task of designing and creating a board game which deals with all the concepts related to photosynthesis and cellular respiration. Your game must contain all the components and rules to play the game (board, figures, dice, cards, characters etc.) The theme of the board game is photosynthesis and cellular respiration and these two concepts can be combined into one game. Students will work in groups of 2 per board game and the team will be responsible for turning this assignment for extra point. Some of the concepts that must be included in the game are: Electron transport chain, Calvin Cycle, formation of glucose, separation of water, production of ATP, NADPH, sunlight, and carbon dioxide. For Cellular respiration: glycolysis, Krebs cycle, electron transport chain, ATP, NADPH, FADH, products and reactants of cellular respiration.
Today we will answer the following questions: What is cellular respiration? Where does cellular respiration take place? What type of cells undergo cellular respiration? What is needed in order for cellular respiration to take place? What are the products of cellular respiration? Chapter 4.4 Overview of Cellular Respiration Pres Chapter 4.4 PN Chapter 4.5 Cellular Respiration in Detail Pres Chapter 4.5 PN Cellular Respiration Vid We cannot cheat on DNA. We cannot get around photosynthesis. We cannot say I am not going to give a damn about phytoplankton. All these tiny mechanisms provide the preconditions of our planetary life. To say we do not care is to say in the most literal sense that “we choose death.” — Barbara Ward Today we will answer the following questions: 1. What do all cells need in order to survive? 2. Which are the reactants of photosynthesis? 3. Which are the products of photosynthesis 4. Which are the 2 main steps in photosynthesis? Photosynthesis in Detail Pres Photosynthesis in Detail PN Poorest cities: Brownsville, Texas: A man stands out of the wind during a downpour in downtown Brownsville. According to U.S. Census Bureau data and economic website 24/7 Wall St., two of the poorest cities in the nation are in Texas. Data shows that the Brownsville-Harlingen area has overtaken McAllen as the poorest city in the country, putting them in the first and second spots. Of the Brownsville-Harlingen area's 415,557 residents, 36 percent live below the poverty level. Texas' overall poverty rate is 17 percent. In Brownsville, 22 percent of the population has only a high school diploma or other equivalent certificate. 37 percent do not have a high school diploma. You have been hired by BASF The Chemical Company which is a global leader in manufacturing products for various industries which include aerospace, agriculture, automotive, packaging, personal care, and pharmaceutical among others. As an employee of BASF, you will be responsible for designing, creating, and testing an economical cell phone accessory that will allow you to examine various types of cells on the go using materials easily attainable by others. The cost of your product should be no higher than $10 dollars. Remember that the product you are developing will be tested in real life applications. Document all activity throughout the project. You are given a deadline of 3 weeks. ALL members are to be involved throughout the development of the project.
